A message from the President…

Since its inception in 1896, the Newark Firefighters Union has fought valiantly for the rights of all of its members. This union operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whenever our members need us, we are there. Our motto is “There When You Need Us,” and I believe that our elected board stands by that by protecting our members, ensuring the safety of our brave men, so that after their shift is done, they can go home and enjoy their lives.

I am a proud member of the Newark Fire Department and also extremely proud to be the President of the biggest Firefighters Union in this great state, representing some of the Bravest men and women that I have ever known. Our goal is to continue a proud tradition of being fair, as past Presidents have done before me.

Beyond responding to emergencies, our firefighters are deeply involved in the community—supporting local initiatives, participating in charitable events, and promoting fire safety education. We believe strong communities are built through service, trust, and partnership.

The Union works to ensure our firefighters have the training, resources, and support they need to perform their duties safely and effectively. At the same time, we advocate for fair working conditions, professional development, and the continued strength of the fire service.
